The ISPID Oathology Working Group is composed of pathologists who are actively working in the area of sudden and unexpected infant and early childhood death. Collaborative activities by members of the group have involved the establishment and ratification of protocols for the autopsy evaluation of unexpected childhood deaths and the publication of papers on all aspects of pediatric forensic pathology.

The Group meets either annually at the Soria Moria workshop in Oslo, Norway, or at the biennial ISPID conferences. The aims of the Group are to encourage research into the pathological mechanisms of unexpected infant and early childhood death, and to foster collaboration among members of the Group, and also with members of the other ISPID working groups.
