Stillbirth Roundtable

The Star Legacy Foundation will host an International Stillbirth Research Roundtable entitled "Emerging Evidence in the Prevention of Stillbirth: What Do We Know? Where Do We Go?" on October 6-7, 2011, with additional sessions for families and caregivers on October 8, in Minneapolis, MN, USA.

The purpose of this event is to bring together researchers from around the globe who are working on emerging issues with great potential for advancing the prevention of stillbirth. The main focus will be in the area of oxygen deprivation or reduced blood flow combined with stressors on the baby which encompasses such things as problems with the placenta and cord, as well as topics such as mother's sleep position, changes in mom's bodies during sleep, low blood pressure, baby hiccups, and connections between prematurity, birth injury and stillbirth. Parents and caregivers will be in the room and able to share theories, ideas, concerns, and ask questions throughout the event. There will also be some programs specifically for parents.
