The International Society for the Study and Prevention of Perinatal and Infant Death (ISPID) exists to save lives before and after birth. Our mission is to advance research and increase knowledge in areas of perinatal and infant health and mortality. In addition ISPID aims to serve as a centralised resource for sharing of information worldwide and connecting organisations and individuals.

By working together for over 20 years and then merging SIDS International with the International Society for the Study and Prevention of Infant Death in 2007, ISPID has brought together researchers and support organizations from over 20 countries, combining the passion of bereaved parents with the world's leading experts on infant survival.

The work of ISPID has resulted in spreading knowledge of evidence-based preventive measures and the reduction of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) worldwide, as well as implementation of international standards and improved quality of care for affected parents.
