International Conference for Stillbirth, SIDS, and SUDI in Florence

Benvenuto! We welcome you to the International Conference for Stillbirth, SIDS, and SUDI, which will be held in the beautiful city of Florence Italy (Firenze, Italia) during the first week in October. The theme of this year’s conference is Baby Survival: Global Achievements and Future Challenges. You will hear the latest advances in epidemiology, pathology, physiology, prevention, and bereavement. Additionally, you can meet and network with others who are committed to and passionate about infant survival. Events include a gala dinner and a memorial service.

While the conference dates are 6 October – 8 October, we invite everyone to attend and participate in ISPID working group meetings on 5 October. We have working groups on epidemiology, pathology, physiology, child death review, education, and bereavement. This is where much of the work of ISPID gets done and continues between in-person conferences.

On 4 October, we are traveling to the Vatican for an audience with the Pope and a tour of the Vatican museum. While there is an extra cost to the museum tour, the audience with the Pope is free of charge. This trip is limited to the first 150 who sign up.

We encourage you to submit an abstract for poster or oral presentation. Abstract submission closes on 30 June. If you are still in training and/or a young investigator, look out for an announcement to apply for a Young Investigator Travel Award (you do have to be an ISPID member to be eligible for a travel award - you can join on www.ispid.org/ispid/support/join).

You can get all of the information about the conference and about abstract submission on the conference website.

We look forward to seeing you in Firenze, Italia!
